TPO & Flat Roofing in Central North Carolina

Single-ply TPO membrane and flat roof systems for commercial and low-slope buildings.

Flat and low-slope roofs need a different approach than a sloped shingle or metal roof — and TPO single-ply membrane has become the go-to system for commercial and low-slope buildings. CG Construction LLC installs, replaces, and repairs TPO and flat roofing across Central North Carolina — Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, Sanford and surrounding communities — for warehouses, offices, retail buildings, and any structure with a flat or low-slope roof.

What TPO roofing is

TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a single-ply roofing membrane designed for flat and low-slope roofs. The sheets are rolled out over the roof, mechanically fastened or adhered, and the seams are heat-welded together to form one continuous, watertight surface. The bright white membrane also reflects sunlight, which helps keep the building cooler and can lower cooling costs through the North Carolina summer.

Our flat roof process

Every flat roof starts with an inspection of the existing deck, drainage, and edges. We address any wet or damaged decking, install the proper base layer and fasteners, set the membrane, and heat-weld the seams so the roof drains and seals correctly. We pay close attention to the perimeter, flashings, and penetrations — the spots where flat roofs are most likely to leak.

Repairs and re-roofs

Not every flat roof needs a full replacement. Failed seams, punctures, ponding water, and worn flashing can often be repaired. When a membrane is past its service life, we provide a clear scope for a full TPO re-roof and walk you through the options for your building.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a TPO roof last?

A properly installed TPO membrane typically lasts 20–30 years, depending on the thickness of the membrane, the quality of the installation, and how the roof is maintained. Keeping drains clear and addressing small issues early gets you the longest life.

Is TPO only for commercial buildings?

TPO is most common on commercial and low-slope roofs, but it works on any flat or low-slope section — including flat porch roofs, additions, and low-slope residential roofs where shingles are not a good fit.

Can you repair my existing flat roof instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. If the membrane is generally sound and the problem is a seam, a puncture, or flashing, a repair is usually the right call. We will tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or whether the roof is at the end of its life.
